Where Warratahstree Creates

I am so excited to be a part of My Desert Cottage's "Where Blogger's Create" I must admit my place where I create is in chaos.  I moved from my original room to a much smaller room to accommodate my son, his wife and daughter.  Why they moved in with us is another story.   So, what do you do when you move into another smaller space.  Well, some of my craft items that I do not use anymore are located in a storage area, so that I can access them when I want to use them again.   As my new space  is much smaller I had to come up with storage ideas to store most of my paper products and still have room to create and draw.    I am a painter as well as scrapbooker, card maker and jewellery maker.  I create paper products for markets and I am always trying to find stamps, paper s and adhesives.  I am slowly trying to organise my space so I can find things easier and faster.  I saw one blog last year that had all th...

Goldie and the 6 yr olds

Last year I started teaching Social ArtWorking.  I wanted to teach canvas pa inting parties and found the Social ArtWorking painting parties were perfect for what I wanted to do.   This week I had a class of 6 girls, aged 6 yrs.  They were the quietest 6 yr olds I have ever met.  I am not sure if they were concentrating so much on their paints, or scared of the new environment or what.     I kept asking them are you having fun and I would see smiling faces and shaking heads.....OK It must be the new environment and the scary lady teaching the class, lol.  They all painted the most beautiful paintings.  What a great job don't you think?  Social ArtWorking is a great canvas painting system to teach all ages and I am having so much fun teaching adults and children.

New Venture - Social Art Working Art Party

I have finally found a way to start doing what has been a dream of mine since 2012.  I have started teaching Social Art Working classes. You come along to an art class that is a social activity and party with friends, family, co-workers or come meet new friends.  Even if all you can do /can't do is paint stick figures you can create a beautiful piece of art work.  The idea is to have fun!   All the art supplies are supplied.  All you have to do is bring your friend's/family and refreshments.   Oh and make sure you have some fun!!  I said that already right ;)   When I last visited my family in the USA.  My sister suggested we all go to an Art Party located near where my family live.  All the women in the family except my great-niece went. Have a look at how different each painting is.... Only two of us have any past experience at painting and yet we all came home with a lovely piece of a...

Feed back and sale of handmade items helps us make the decisions about what items will sell

This week I got asked a great question.  "I am wanting to sell my jewelry.  I just want to perfect it a bit more before I post them in my store.  So any tips you have I would gladly take....." The question was posed by   +Niki A  @ ( My Life Remixing Blog )    While I was so flattered to be asked that question, I too am still finding my niche' in the area of my Fimo jewelry.  I want it to be unique, something someone else is not making but also items that will sell. I asked myself the same question once I decided to sell my artwork.   I have always been involved in craft, DIY, art, and many other creative activities.  Making the step from crafter to artist was a long gradual process for me.  For many years I made things for me, because I liked the look of something or I wanted to learn a new technique.   With the encouragement of my friends and family, I decided to try making my hobby my busine...
